For those of us in Chicago DWR just opened a store here. It's right off of North Ave at Sheffield, next to The Art Store and Old Navy. I recently went there and dozed on their Sonno mattress and I cannot get the dreamy Sonno pillow off my mind.
Oh and why don't we cat owners want synthetic carpet? Cat hair? Claws? I use cheaper rugs from Crate and Barrell outlet so that I can change them every year since they get so thinned from brushing all the cat hair off. What are the benefits of non-synthetic?

We absolutely LOVE our Flor tiles. They stay down (using the tacky adhesives on the bottom end) and after vacuuming with a handheld Dirt Devil vac, the edges do NOT curl up. We've had them for about 3 months and they hold up well with our dog (although it does need vacuuming more frequently on darker colors).
Practical, moveable (we moved them 10 time before we settled on a pattern and place) and durable (dog puked on one of the tiles and we just washed, rinsed, dried and laid it back into the area).
Cheaper than any area rug (~$120 for a 4' x 6' area) you will find at C&B, PB, etc.

Hm... we're considering getting Flor tiles -- I wish we could have a post/discussion just on that.
Grubble, when you say you vacuumed with a "handheld" vacuum, does that mean you can't use a traditional, stand-up vacuum cleaner? That would be a real bummer.
(It's worth noting that Interface, the company that makes Flor tiles, is legendary in the environmental community. The CEO was one of the first big business guys to get religion on sustainability, and that company is one of the most socially and environmentall responsible in the world. The tiles are, needless to say, recyclable -- Interface will even do it for you.)

I hate straightening my hair. I just want straight hair.
